We only supply the best Grade 350 steel to AS/NZS 3678 and AS/NZS 1594 standard. An optional laser plate is also available which is even better — it cuts nicely and provides a great finish.
COR-TEN Steel
It’s in the name: corosion-resistance and tensile strength
COR-TEN is known as ”weathering steel” because it refers to the chemical composition of these steels, allowing them to exhibit increased resistance to atmospheric corrosion compared to other steels. This is because the steel forms a protective layer on its surface under the influence of the weather. Weathering steel, also known as low-alloy steel, are steels with a carbon content of less than 0.2 wt. %.
The corrosion-retarding effect of the protective layer is produced by the particular distribution and concentration of alloying elements in it. The layer protecting the surface develops and regenerates continuously when subjected to the influence of the weather. In other words, the steel is allowed to rust in order to form the ‘protective’ coating.
