Carl
11 years at Real Steel
Research & Development Manager
“I started in 2013 as a Production Draughtsman back when there was just a handful of us. I then moved into Technical Sales, then 2IC of the Design team and currently I’m the Research and Development Manager. I also went away to Canada for 18 months in that time, and still came back! I’ve learnt ridiculous amounts here, in all different areas. I enjoy the support that you get working here, both personally and professionally. And the work perks are great too—Beervana, Christmas party, BBQs—there is a culture of togetherness.”
“This is the best place I have worked. I feel supported and valued. Hard work is rewarded. You’re part of the Real Steel family.”
Grant
17 YEARS AT REAL STEEL
Factory Supervisor
“After 15 years I still don’t think there’s any morning when I get up and think “ugh, got to go to work”. No two days are really the same. Real Steel is a great place to work, they value staff input. I’ve had a variety of roles and I’m now working as WearParts Supervisor in the factory. Real Steel has put me through my HT, EWP, Height Safety, Confined Spaces, many first aid courses, and now supervisor training. As a company they are happy to spend time and money training you. The employee benefits, the gym membership, the health insurance and life insurance — that’s unheard of.”
“The attitude of management is way more caring than other places I’ve worked at. Employees and customers are well cared for.”
Hannah
4 years at Real Steel
Supply Coordinator
“My first role at Real Steel was Customer Service Representative. I now work in the Admin team as the Supply Coordinator. After being in customer services roles for 8 years I was ready for a change, and Real Steel supported me to move into another role within the business. That to me speaks how highly you are valued. Real Steel is always looking for ways to improve, not only for the success of the business or the customer experience, but also for staff happiness. Real Steel’s point of difference from other employers is how they train and upskill their current staff, and promote hard work/commitment, but also a very healthy work life balance.”
“The working environment is very positive; you always feel valued and like you’re part of a big team/family.”
Rahul
3 YEARs AT REAL STEEL
Factory Production
“This is a bloody good place to work at. I’ve worked at other places of similar sizes and they just don’t seem to have the camaraderie that this place does. I can go to anyone with questions, or have a yarn with anyone. No one seems to be above or below anyone regardless of what their job is. Everyone treats everyone really fairly. It’s like working for a small family business but on a larger scale.”
“There’s plenty of room for progression here. As long as you show some initiative, you’re only limited by yourself and what you’re willing to put in.”
“Thank you for considering Real Steel for your next career move. From humble beginnings as a one-man operation in an old shipping container twenty years ago, the key to our success has been in building an exceptional team of talented people.
We understand that customers are important—but even more important are our people. With a great team, everyone is naturally engaged in providing our customers the best service possible.
We work really hard to maintain and build our company culture and develop our people. We are looking for people who can make a positive impact to our team and we look forward to receiving your application.”
